Championship promotion chasers Millwall have announced a pre-tax loss of £300,000 for the most recent financial year. The Lions' accounts were aided by generating a £21.6m profit from player sales with the moves of Zian Flemming, to Burnley, and Romain Esse, to Crystal Palace, commanding significant fees. The club - currently third in the Championship, one point off the automatic promotion places - made a loss of £19.1m the previous year. During the 12 months since, Millwall's wage bill has increased by 12% to £28.6m which is 120% of their total revenue. They invested £7.4m into their training facilities with a large portion of that sum going into buying the freehold to the Calmont Road training ground.
