Minister collapses while speaking at the despatch box in the House of Lords

Baroness Blackwood of North Oxford was answering an urgent question on the hospital listeria outbreak when she appeared to faint. Lady Blackwood, 39, stopped speaking and muttered "I'm going to faint, I'm going to faint" before dramatically collapsing. The House was adjourned for 10 minutes while she was helped back to her feet and given a glass of water by doorkeepers. The former MP lost her Commons seat in 2017 and was appointed to the Lords in February 2019. POTS causes chronic migraines for which she is treated by having 32 injections in the head every 10–12 weeks.
