The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has inaugurated the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of the ministry. It was jointly inaugurated by the Permanent Secretary, Dr (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Akinlade, and the ICPC chairman, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja. While delivering her speech, the permanent secretary, who congratulated the members, therefore, urged them to rededicate themselves and demonstrate exemplariness by living above board at all times. The permanent secretary said the development was particularly significant to the ministry, given the current high expectations of the country from its mines and steel sector as a major pillar and driver of the economic diversification agenda.
