Pamela Uba’s Miss Ireland journey began in March 2020 when she was crowned Miss Galway, just three days before the nation's first lockdown. "I started to think about all of the other women who had been Miss Ireland and what they had achieved. As the first Black Miss Ireland, however, Pamela hadn't seen a contestant that looked like her before. "Direct provision is very challenging on families and it's a very hard system to grow up in. “I think Pamela is going to do a fantastic job representing Ireland at the Miss World final.”
