A sex worker is fighting for her life after she was allegedly assaulted by Mombasa inspectorate officers and police on Friday. The security authorities had embarked on an operation to flush out prostitutes from the coastal town's streets. This was after the county assembly approved a motion at the house to have the streets cleared of the sex workers. Dozens of others were injured, in what the sex workers' who spoke to Star off record, termed as brutal attack meted by rogue officers. The inspectorate department denied conducting such a raid but said it has had plans to rid Mombasa streets of prostitutes.
