More bad news for Reckitt Benckiser


Good morning: There is another slug of bad news for embattled shareholders in the consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser, which posted interim results this morning. Alongside the results Reckitt has taken a £318 million provision to cover the potential costs of a US investigation into allegations that its RB Pharmaceuticals business, which it spun off in 2014, broke antitrust and consumer protection laws by trying to keep generic versions of Indivior off the market. “The final cost for the group may be materially higher than this reserve,” the company warns. Earlier this month Reckitt Benckiser cut its growth forecasts as it warned that a number of its factories had been hit by the NotPetya cyberattack.
