More patrols after NEV car thefts

Dunedin Police are increasing their presence in Northeast Valley following a spate of car break-ins. Acting Senior Sergeant Sam Ramsay said since last Thursday, nine vehicles had been entered, many of them after a rear quarterlight window was smashed. Among those broken into were three vehicles in Montague St, Cardigan St and Glendining Ave, from which loose change, phone chargers and ''other small personal items'' were taken. He said more police patrols would be operating in the area as a result.
