More than 18,000 students join overseas internship programTAIPEI, Taiwan -- More than 18,000 students have participated in overseas internship programs since the Education Ministry set up the project in 2007. The ministry plans to explore more partnerships with universities and companies in Southeast Asia and in turn, release more vacancies for applicants hoping to head to Southeast Asia, Yang said. Asked whether the ministry had targeted specific countries in Southeast Asia, Yang listed Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam as ministry's top priorities. Asked which fields of business Taiwanese students in Southeast Asia tended to participate in, Yang said most of them were in the traditional industries. Huang went to Vietnam after she was accepted to the overseas internship program last year.
