Just before BoJack attempts an apology, Todd cuts it off at the pass: “You can’t keep doing this,” says Todd. Just as BoJack is revving up another excuse-laden apology for bad behaviour, Todd has had enough. Even in an age of more generally experimental television, nothing will swing from glorious punnery to emotional destruction as quickly as BoJack, nor can anything tie a fleeting moment of peace to a crushing moment of realization quite so succinctly. “You can’t keep doing shitty things, and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it okay. BoJack himself has been lead to it, even if he’s never quite fully drunk it in.
