Morocco stands to reap major benefits from coupling desalination with renewable energy sources, says a recently released report. The RES4Africa Foundation’s Powering desalination with renewable energies in Morocco report, said if the country did this, it would ensure a sustainable water supply, energy security for the water sector and environmental sustainability. “To better understand how these barriers influence the renewable desalination sector, they have been grouped according to a regulatory framework which focuses on three dimensions fundamental to create an enabling environment for the scale-up of investments in renewable desalination. “Particular relevance is assumed by the implementation of renewable energy as the main source of electricity for future large-scale projects.”Have you read?
