Stephen Welsh was the returning hero for Motherwell as he sunk a dagger into Rangers' hearts with a late equaliser for the 10-man Steelmen. Motherwell were brilliant in the first half and should at least have been level at the break – even though Youssef Chermiti spurned a great chance for 2-0. They weren't quite as electric in the second especially with Elliot Watt, not ready yet to play 90 minutes, withdrawn at the break. But the story wasn't written yet – up popped Celtic loanee Welsh on the stroke of 90 minutes with a fine finish that had Motherwell fans singing his name for the rest of the evening. A big point for Motherwell, but a damaging two dropped for Rangers who now lose ground on both Hearts and Celtic.
