Douglas Muchela has been a cook at the school for over a decade now. According to Muchela, the school leadership has been unwilling to pick up the issues raised for the good of the students. Unfortunately, the board governing the school would side with the school administration, and thus he would not do much to save the students from an imminent pandemic that would befall them. This came weeks after another bunch of 82 students got admitted to various hospitals after complaining of feeling unwell. Fresh cases reported in Mukumu Girls'Of the 82 learners, 22 were admitted at the St. Elizabeth Mission Hospital in Mukumu, while two at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital.
