A housing society in Mumbai’s Kandivali on Friday installed a three-tonne waste segregation machine to manage its own garbage. Gokul Heaven Society in Kandivali’s Thakur Complex has spent Rs 8 lakh on the machine. Each member’s contribution of Rs 200 per month also includes maintenance of the machine. So the approximate per month cost that a resident will bear would be Rs 200," said R Sawant, secretary, Gokul Heaven Housing Society.
