Two unidentified men robbed a senior citizen of his gold chain worth Rs62,500 in Malad (East) on Tuesday. Between 2.15 pm and 4.15 pm, Ravindra Sawant, 61, was walking near Pushpa Park Subway when the accused approached him. “The two told him to keep an eye on his gold chain as it was dangerous to walk around a secluded spot with valuables,” said an officer. Police said the two men initiated a friendly conversation with Sawant and soon convinced him to remove his gold chain. They are examining CCTV camera footage of the area and relying on Sawant’s description of the accused to trace him.
