The victim has been identified as Raja Fakir, 22, the key suspect in the murder of a college student and Chhatra League activist Talim Mullick, 18. Raja's father Babu Fakir alleged that the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) picked his son up from Patuakhali on Sunday, as he was accused in a murder case. On Monday evening, the duty doctor of Bagerhat Sadar Hospital declared Raja dead when locals, upon finding him, took him there. On October 18 of 2019, Talim was stabbed to death at the Khan Jahan Ali Mazar area in Bagerhat.
