Robert Donovan was sentenced to life for the murder of a theatre manager PAA British murderer who was on the run in Ireland for four years has failed to convince a judge that Brexit would threaten his safety if he returned to England. Robert Donovan, 57, had been at large in Waterford after escaping from a life sentence at a West Sussex jail in 2010. He was re-arrested in November 2014 after the British authorities issued a European arrest warrant. Ms Justice Aileen Donnelly said there was “simply no basis” for believing there was a risk that any of the man’s rights would be violated when he was returned to Britain.
