The DU music department organizes the festival as part of its regular academic curriculum, as per Department Chairperson Tumpa Samadar’s statement at a press conference, at the Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday. Vice-Chancellor of DU Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the event as chief guest, reports UNB. Students and teachers of the music Department, and invited singers from India and Sri Lanka will perform at the festival. Besides eminent music personalities – late professor Mridul Kanti Chakrabarty and Madan Gopal Das – will also be remembered at the festival.
