Setting an example of communal harmony, more than 60 Hindu inmates of the district jail here are keeping ‘roza’, the dawn-to-dusk fast during Ramzan, along with 1,150 Muslim inmates. On the first day of the Ramzan, 65 Hindu inmates kept fast with 1,150 Muslim inmates here, said Satish Tripathi, jailor of the district jail. Food items like seasonal fruits, dates, 500 gram milk and various other snacks are being made available to them, he said. Special arrangements have been made for the inmates to perform prayers and enjoy their pre-dawn ‘sehri’ meal and evening meals known as ‘iftars’. The holy month of Ramzan commenced on June 6.
