The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), says it will embark on aggressive awareness and public enlightenment programmes this year to check the spread of human trafficking across the Country. The Director of Public Enlightenment of the Agency, Mr Arinze Orakwue stated this while featuring in a radio program in Awka, on Friday. He called on government at different levels to provide an enabling environment and facility that will ensure effective teaching and learning in schools and colleges, to check the excesses of human traffickers, in addition to empowering the women properly. He also called for all hands to be on deck to check the activities of human traffickers who he described as criminals. Mr Orakwue assures that the agency will continue to partner non-governmental organisation, Civil Society organisations and other dedicated groups in the ongoing fight against human traffickers.
