It is often said that humans know more about the moon than the ocean floor, and most of the Earth’s oceans are still beyond human knowledge. However, there is hope for a change in this situation, as the American space agency ‘NASA’ has released a new map of the sea floor, which is prepared based on data obtained from space. This map was prepared with the help of a modern satellite ‘Surface Water and Ocean Topography Satellite’, which is a joint project of NASA and the French space agency CNES. This satellite was sent into space in December 2022. According to NASA, the mission aims to create a detailed map of the world’s ocean floor by the end of this decade, so that information can be obtained about areas that have remained a mystery until now.
