Assailants on motorbikes have attacked the car of Hasnat Abdullah in Gazipur while the National Citizen Party (NCP) leader was travelling in it, injuring him in the process. The incident occurred near the Chandna Intersection on Sunday evening, said Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Rabiul Hasan. NCP Chief Coordinator (North) Sarjis Alam said in a Facebook post, "As many as 10-12 assailants attacked Hasnat's car in the Gazipur area, smashing the glass of his car and leaving his hands bloodied. The party’s Gazipur joint convener Akash Ghosh said, "We had no information about where Hasnat had gone or why he had come. NCP senior joint convener Ariful Islam Adib said, "Hasnat Abdullah was attacked by assailants around 7pm while he was returning from Gazipur.
