NEG seeks southern Christian as President

The National Equity Group on Wednesday said after the eight years regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), a Christian from the southern part of the country should take over. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the National Convener of the NEG, Dr Emeka Nwosu, said the emergence of a southern Christian as President in 2023 would promote fairness and inclusion in the nation, especially at this time of unprecedented national crisis. Nwosu said, “The country is at the moment facing strife fueled by religious distrust, suspicion and fear of domination. Nigeria’s population is divided almost in equal half by the adherents of the two major faiths of Christianity and Islam.”Copyright PUNCH.
