NPS Dismisses DCI Boss Mohammed Amin's Exit Today, Hits Back at Daily Nation

The National Police Service has dismissed claims by various publications in the country that the tenure of the current DCI boss, Amin Mohammed, is set to end on April 1. “The claim that Mr Amin's tenure 'ends today' is factually inaccurate, premature, speculative, and misleading,” Nyaga said. On Wednesday, Daily Nation ran a story titled Tenure Ends for DCI Boss Haunted by Abductions, a story that appears not to have augured well with the senior leadership of the NPS as well as DCI. In its statement, NPS claimed that the headline was reckless and unsubstantiated and tarnished the entire Directorate and the wider service. Nonetheless, if Amin's tenure could end today, the attention would now shift to President William Ruto, who will appoint someone to lead the powerful directorate.
