NTMA appoints Amundi, BlackRock, State Street Global Advisors and UBS to manage the State’s €18bn Future Ireland Funds

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) has appointed four global investment firms to manage the State’s €18bn Future Ireland Funds (FIF) as it begins putting the money into long-term market strategies. Following a public procurement process, the agency selected Amundi, BlackRock, State Street Global Advisors and UBS Asset Management to provide passive investment management services across both funds, with management fees linked to the level of assets allocated to each firm. The appointments come as the NTMA starts transitioning the funds from interim arrangements to their new long-term investment strategies. The NTMA said further public procurement processes are expected in due course to select investment managers for other asset classes and mandates as required. “The selection of investment managers is an important step to facilitate the implementation of the long-term investment strategies for the Future Ireland Funds, which were announced last month,” said Rebekah Brady the director of the NTMA’s Future Ireland Funds unit.
