Nézet-Séguin wears to work. You can see what Yannick is trying to do – make the role less formal, the Met more diverse and user-friendly, the job less boring. Musicians in the Met orchestra complains that they have to wear stiff and formal costumes every night in the pit while their music director looks like’s he’s going clubbing – and flaunts it to the audience.
