Gardens were a predominant theme on day two of New York Fashion Week starting with Tory Burch who elected to show her collection at the Cooper Hewitt Museum. Out came the clothes in an explosion of colors like blues, greens, and oranges in geometric patterns reminiscent of Hicks fabrics and upholstery. Dramatic and oversized floral arrangements by Putnam and Putnam were installed all over the Jason Wu runway giving off a hint that romance was in the air. And yes, there it was on the clothes that paraded but it wasn't the saccharine and explosion of tulle confection kind. There were pajama stripe numbers as separates and dresses, including a waist slashed dress with a revealing slit worn by Bella Hadid to open the show.
