New Zealand is among the ten worst countries in a global survey on the proportion of women in senior business roles. Globally, the proportion of senior business roles held by women has hit 25 per cent, but in New Zealand this figure is 20 per cent - up just one per cent on the previous year. The number of companies with no women in senior management had dropped from 42 per cent to 37 per cent. "This year, global businesses have reached a milestone, with a quarter of senior roles held by women for the first time," Davies said. "Our research challenges the assumption that women are risk adverse and slow to act," Davies said.
