National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has alleged that incidents of violence and property grabbing are taking place across Bangladesh following the announcement of the 13th National Parliamentary Election results, calling them a “serious threat to democracy”. According to him, these incidents are not isolated but appear to be organized displays of power aimed at establishing political dominance. Nahid said: “The politics of occupying the field through post-election violence will not succeed. “All acts of violence must stop immediately, and the perpetrators should be arrested and brought under the law. He further cautioned that any attempts to impose new terror and domination in post-24 February Bangladesh would be met with firm responses from students and citizens through democratic means.
