KUALA LUMPUR: The conditions imposed on developers by the Selangor government which lead to higher prices will be re-examined if Barisan Nasional wins the state at the general election, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic). The Prime Minister said that Selangor imposes various conditions on all developers including Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA), the Government's housing programme that caters to lower and middle income groups. These conditions, said Najib, creates additional costs for developers that in turn are passed on to buyers, who have to pay higher prices. "We don't intend to add more conditions which will lead to higher costs, and God willing, if we are given the trust to lead in Selangor, we will re-examine the additional conditions imposed by the Selangor Government, not just on PR1MA but on all developers. However, Najib said that despite the extra conditions, PR1MA and other Government agencies tasked with building or increasing the supply of affordable homes have managed to meet their overall targets.
