The National Sports Awards were conferred to 65 athletes virtually by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India on Saturday. There were five sporting individuals who were conferred the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, which is the highest civilian honour for a sporting personality in India. However, the likes of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma missed the ceremony as they were on IPL duties in the UAE. There was also the Tenzing Norgay national awards that were given to eight people. Total list of winnersKhel Ratna award: Rohit Sharma, Mariyappan Thangavelu, Manika Batra, Rani Rampal and Vinesh Phogat.
