Nearly One-Third Of Gen Z Men Think Wives Should Obey Their Husbands, New Global Study Finds

The study could provide insight into the voting habits of Gen Z men skewing further right in the last presidential election. According to the study, 31% of Gen Z men believe that a wife should always obey her husband, and 33% said a husband should have the final say over big decisions. Despite women overall giving drastically different responses to the same questions, Gen Z women were still more likely than their Boomer counterparts to say a woman should always obey her husband, with 18% of Gen Z women answering yes, compared to only 6% of Boomer women. Outside of their views on marriage, Gen Z was also more likely to agree with statements more closely associated with traditional gender roles. Gen Z men also agreed at a 21% rate that a man taking an active role in child care made them less masculine, compared to just 8% of Boomer men and 14% of Gen Z women.
