RECENTLY, a member of my family, a doctor assigned to a Covid-19 intensive care unit (ICU), told me she never imagined the pandemic situation would come to this. “We are at a time when we have to choose which Covid-19 patients will get the ICU beds because resources are limited. Medical personnel, on their own initiative, check on the well-being of their discharged patients. She had no money and no one to take care of her, so they called their friends, NGOs and Good Samaritans to help the lady. Can the government set up a unit to handle this neglected area, please?
