Netflix planning to spend NZ$11 billion on programmingMIKE BLAKE/REUTERS Netflix believes you have to spend money to make money. The streaming pioneer will deploy as much as US$8 billion (NZ$11.2 billion) on programming next year, as much as a third more than in 2017. Netflix, based in Los Gatos, California, USA, will also pony up more than US$1 billion for marketing. The company's long-term budget for movies and TV shows totals US$17 billion. TEEN AND TWEEN DRAMASFor all the money Netflix spends on its own shows, programming licensed from others still accounts for the majority of the company's annual spending.
