A new Asian fusion takeout restaurant offering light breakfast and sandwiches aims to open later this winter. Owner Chananyu Phijarnwanit, who is also manager of his family’s neighboring Chaba Thai restaurant, said he aims to launch TASTE ME in March. Phijarnwanit said the lunch menu will include items like Thai basil burgers and orange chicken sandwiches, while breakfast offerings will include baked goods, coffee and matcha. The restaurant will also have some pan-Asian lunch entrees like grab-and-go sushi, rice plates, crispy chicken teriyaki and ramen. Phijarnwanit said he landed on the concept for TASTE ME after seeing that Scarborough doesn’t have a lot of options for quick breakfasts and sandwiches.
