Dickson arrived in Dhaka on Sunday. Alison Blake was appointed British high commissioner to Bangladesh in January 2016 and left Dhaka a few days ago after completing her tenure in Bangladesh. Dickson has been acting ambassador at the British Embassy, Kabul, since February 2015 and before that he was Deputy Ambassador from July 2013. He also served as additional director, Western Balkans Programme, at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), and as British consul general in Chicago from 2010 to 2013.
