The initiative is designed to support telecom operators and internet service providers as they modernize their networks. In its 2022 report “5G in Africa: Realizing the Potential,” the GSMA warned that telecom operators’ operating costs would continue to rise. He said this shift should significantly lower operating costs and improve access for both customers and service providers.
