New Conservative leader Leighton Baker speaks to a small audience at Te Anau on Saturday afternoon. Invercargill electorate candidate Josh Honiss joined party leader Leighton Baker at the party’s public meetings in Te Anau, Gore and Invercargill at the weekend. The party is campaigning on personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional family values and a strong national identity. “We had 12 Columbians come to a breakfast meeting we hosted, 50 people came along in Te Anau and 100 in Invercargill. We’ve had an excellent turnout.’’The far-right party was resurrected from the ashes of Colin Craig's Conservative Party.
