A new Covid-19 'exposure logging' tool has appeared on smartphones without users installing it - but it's not the NHS contact tracing app. The software showed up in the settings of both Android phones and iPhones as part of an update of their operating systems. The 'exposure notification' tool is switched off by default, and is not a tracing app itself. It comes after Matt Hancock faced a fresh storm over the failed NHS contact tracing app yesterday after it emerged the government pumped more than £11million into the failed project.
