In several detailed charts, the FX Networks research department released their annual report outlining the number of scripted original series that aired in 2018. To gather the numbers, as of December 5th, 2018, the network culled information from Nielsen, Online Services, Futon Critic, Wikipedia, and Epguides, et al. Pay cable jumped 32% as the number of basic cable series dropped 17%. Broadcast networks run second with 146 series, basic cable third with 144 series and pay cable checks in last in the category with 45 series. Given this information, the total number of original scripted series available to consumers could leap to well over 500 in 2019.
