The Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus are both expected to use ultrasonic technology to read the user’s fingerprints, a technique that Samsung has previously patented. Its second-generation ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor was used by a few Chinese manufacturers in their devices last year. The third handset in the anniversary portfolio - the presumptively named Galaxy S10 Mini - is expected to use the imaging style sensor. With Apple going all in on its FaceID system and phasing out TouchID, it also puts some clear water between the specifications of the Galaxy S10 and the iPhone XS families.
