In recent days, Mr. Biden has gone after Mr. Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Ind., over his relatively thin résumé. There are signs on the ground in New Hampshire, too, that Mr. Buttigieg has cut into Mr. Biden’s standing with moderate voters. Mr. Buttigieg rose eight points among voters 45 and older since last month’s CNN poll of New Hampshire, while Mr. Biden fell by nine. And Mr. Buttigieg is up six points among moderate and conservative voters, while Mr. Biden has fallen by five.
