The victim, Juan Carlos Colon, 39, of East Hartford was shot and immediately taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Police were called to the 200 block of Forbes Ave. just after 11 a.m., and responding officers found a Colon who was shot and in critical condition. New Haven police Major Crimes Unit detectives are on the scene investigating the shooting homicide.
