Ricardo Mendez has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Anastasia Gear at a New Castle, Del., apartment complex, police say. (New Castle County Police)Anastasia Gear, 29, of Penns Grove was attacked in the parking lot of the Castlebrook Apartments in New Castle on Monday night, according to New Castle County Police. Police were initially called to the apartment complex on 500 South DuPont Highway just before 7 p.m. Monday for the report of a stabbing. According to police, Gear was visiting a family member in the apartment complex when she was approached by Mendez.
