Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the STF has been set up with 16 officers. The new unit will be assisted in the future to curb illegal activities related to water and reservoirs in various areas. Boat training has also been provided for the Diyamatha Special Operations Unit, with the assistance of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Sri Lanka Motor Boat Association.
