Pretoria, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) Former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be sworn-in on Friday as new President of Zimbabwe, after being nominated by governing Zanu-Pf to occupy the post abandoned the eve by Robert Mugabe. According to press reports in Harare, the announcement was done by the head of the parliament, Jacob Mudenda. In statements published today, the president of Zanu-PF, Simon Khaya Moyo, said that Mugabe did much for the liberation of Zimbabwe and as prime minister and president post-independence. ‘He deserves to rest and I think Zimbabwe citizens agree’, he pointed. Political analysts in Harare considered the recommendation to Mugabe to resign had the purpose of offering the veteran leader an honorable way out.
