WASHINGTON—Sudan is weeks away from reaching a settlement with families of those killed in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, one of the last steps in getting the African country removed from the U.S. list of state sponsorsof terrorism, new Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok said in an interview. Mr. Hamdok was in Washington this week to attempt to persuade the Trump administration and government agencies that Sudan has turned over a new leaf after a revolution ousted dictator Omar al-Bashir earlier this year.
