New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur wasn’t around the team's East Rutherford, New Jersey, headquarters last year when the sky-high expectations for the team came crashing down into a million little pieces, resulting in a 3-13 season. The Giants brought in 10 new faces via free agency: left tackle Nate Solder; running back Jonathan Stewart; cornerbacks Teddy Williams, Curtis Riley, B.W. Webb, and William Gay; linebacker Kareem Martin; receiver Cody Latimer; defensive end Josh Mauro and safety Michael Thomas. In addition, all the acquired players except for Martin, Mauro and Thomas were on a team that qualified for the postseason last year. “That’s what we’re trying to do, try to get better one day at a time,” Shurmur said.
