New York City’s theaters have been dark since mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the theater community is coming to life in another respect, with rehearsal studios opening in recent weeks so professionals can gather and develop shows. The question, though, is whether such facilities are permitted to operate under New York state’s social-distancing guidelines.
