As the nation’s largest city began reopening Monday after more than two months of lockdown, New Yorkers expressed trepidation, relief and optimism about this first step toward getting back to business. With the city hard hit by coronavirus, many residents have spent weeks abiding by state guidance to stay home as much as possible. But on Monday, construction, agriculture, manufacturing and wholesale trade sites were allowed to resume. Retail stores could also offer curbside and in-store pickup.
