In return, the Jets will give up a 2023 first-round pick (No 13 overall), a 2023 second-round pick (No 42), and a 2023 sixth-round pick (No 207). Additionally, the Packers will receive a conditional 2024 second-round pick, which will become a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65% of the Jets’ offensive snaps this season. There is also the possibility that Rodgers could retire, leaving the Jets in need of giving a first-round pick to the Packers in 2024. Despite the criticism, New York Jets General Manager Joe Douglas defended the assets given up to acquire Rodgers. Rodgers represents a major upgrade over Zach Wilson, the Jets’ former No 2 overall pick who has struggled since being drafted in 2021.
